Group Exercise Class Descriptions

Barre (Ball/Band): The ultimate body sculpting class that improves the shape of your body with high energy-low impact exercises at the barre (wooden beam) that define your rear, legs and core, and light weights for arms. Classes alternate between resistance bands and small exercise balls to provide maximum toning and bursts of cardio encourage continuous fat burning.

Barre Sculpt: a high intensity barre class that uses light and heavy weights. It incorporates a little bit of ballet, pilates, and cardio and ends with stretching and lengthening the muscles.

Bollywood Cardio: enjoy learning new moves as you sweat in this upbeat dance class, all to the music of India.

Bollywood Choreo: take it step-by-step to learn challenging and exceptionally entertaining choreography, inspired by the best dancers of the Bollywood movie scene!

BodySculpt: A strength training class incorporating hand weights, exercise bands and/or stability balls to sculpt and tone your entire body.

BodySculpt Express: a 30-minute head-to-toe full body toning and strengthening workout.

Bootcamp: A heart pumping cardio and strength session! By combining pure strength training and high cardio plyometrics, it’s a perfect combination to challenge any fitness level that will result in a metabolism and endurance boost that will change you in fitness!

Cardio Hip Hop: Learn basic dance moves for an aerobic workout to the latest and classic hip hop tracks

Cardio Kickboxing: A challenging and fun workout! kick boxing combinations, skipping rope, shadow boxing and stretching. This is designed for all levels. Cardio/Strength

Cut to the Core: Strengthen your abdominal and back in this core-focused, 30-minute class.

Dance FusionHip Hop, Modern, and Latin dance moves are all part of this dynamic cardio class, and moves are broken down so you can learn some new routines!

Gentle Mat Pilates: Focus is on the core and placement of the spine. It promotes body awareness, strength, flexibility and healing. The class moves at a deliberate pace, its a total body workout while incorporating breath and relaxation. Beginner friendly, all levels welcome.

HOT HULA fitness® is a fun, new and exciting “total body” dance workout inspired by the dances of the Pacific Islands.HOT HULA fitness® isolates your larger muscle groups, increasing strength and definition to your core with specific emphasis on the abs, glutes, quads and arms. HOT HULA fitness® is a fusion of traditional and new dance moves, set to the rhythm of Tahitian Drums, Reggae, and Hip-Hop, creating a unique way to experience an enjoyable and effective workout. All ages and fitness levels are welcome and will enjoy HOT HULA fitness®.

Mat Pilates: This class uses the traditional mat exercises developed by Joseph Pilates.  Breathing, posture, graceful movements, co-ordination and precision of movement are incorporated in each core strength exercise while working the CORE as well as many other muscles at the same time.

Nia Technique: A Fusion Fitness Class using free movement from The Dance Arts, The Martial Arts, & The Healing Arts. Come explore your Body’s Way. Nia movement is medicine. Nia movement is healing. Nia movement delivers fitness. Nia movement is transformational. Nia movement is fun.

Lead by a registered dietician, gain the knowledge you need to be able to lose weight effectively, efficiently, and to keep it off. $10 for everyone and an additional $19/month for a nutritional workshop-membership add-on. All you need is a pen, notebook, and calculator!Pilates Barre: Combines the principles of  both dance and Pilates: precision, core strength, and focus on small muscles groups. You can expect a total body work out and cool down stretch with emphasis on abs, glutes and thighs. Shake, lengthen and burn! All levels welcome.

POUND®: is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements and more to strengthen and sculpt infrequently used muscles. Drum your way to a leaner, slimmer physique- all while rocking out to your favorite music!

Power Yoga: this class is a combination of body awareness and strength training. There is an emphasis on the connection of breath and movement as you flow through traditional yoga sequences. The class is suitable for all levels – from beginners to more advanced students.

50-Plus Fitness: This class will help strengthen and improve balance and your cardiovascular ability. Class includes stretching and activities to improve range of motion, and strength. Exercises can be done from a chair. All levels welcome! 1st class is free and senior discount applies. See pricing.

Restorative Yoga: A more relaxing class with long-hold stretches… but still expect to sweat!

Salsa Hip Hop®: Combines Afro Cuban music and dance styles with hip-hop urban rhythms and easy to follow routines laced with Cuba Swift’s creative teaching methods.

Swing Dancing for Beginners: Special events to learn East Coast Swing, Charleston, and Lindy Hop in a relaxed social dance setting.  Learn all the basics so you can dance with confidence to music from the 30s, 40s and 50s.  No partner necessary though couples are welcome, and anyone can lead or follow.  Call our main line at 626-497-3760 for more information.

Tabata: A high intensity class filled with simple yet effective circuits. Uses a variety of exercises to challenge participants and build strength will rapidly burning calories.
TRX: This modern fitness class utilizes the TRX Suspension Trainer – the original body-weight training tool that helps build muscle, increase flexibility and tighten your core.

TRX /Cardio: This class integrates use of the TRX® suspension trainer with cardio work to create a well-rounded and intense workout.

Vinyasa Flow (Yoga, All-Levels): This class is a balance between alignment with breath, clear instruction and the flow of natural movement, great for beginners and for those who already have a dedicated practice. A combination of Sun Salutes, standing poses, balance postures and restorative poses will leave the body, mind and spirit feeling strong, relaxed and balanced. Great for stress relief, muscle strengthening, core building and flexibility.
